SACK believes that it is their responsibility to give back to the communities that give so much to them. In 2016 alone, SACK donated nearly $40,000 to various charities and events in our region. In fact, SACK has contributed more than $333,000 since 2009.
“We have been very blessed with the opportunity to earn a living by helping construct projects built in Bulloch and surrounding counties and through supporting business and manufacturing operations throughout Georgia,” Paul Roesel, co-owner of SACK, said. “We consider it to be the responsibility of a good corporate citizen and as a caring group of people to give back financially to our community to help people in need and to help our community improve the quality of life of all who live here.”
SACK has regularly provided local sponsorships and donations. They help sponsor well-known foundations and initiatives ranging from Ogeechee Area Hospice to The Boys & Girls Club. They also make it their mission to support youth sports leagues throughout Bulloch County.
“As I think about things in my life I am passionate about, sports has always been on the top of my list. I believe sports give children the opportunity to thrive in a positive environment. These activities can be very expensive so anytime we can ease that financial burden on parents we are happy to do so”, Philip Roesel, co-owner of SACK, said.
Some of the sports organizations SACK has donated to include Statesboro High School Baseball & Football, GA Thunder Softball, Crowned Elite Athletics and The Tyson Foundation.
In addition to its 2016 charitable efforts to organizations, SACK commonly sponsors employees and family members of employees to go on mission trips around the world. Most recently they have sponsored employees or family members to go to Ecuador and Honduras.
Other donations and sponsorships in Bulloch County include but are not limited to the Open Hearts Community Mission’s Chocolate Run, Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s, The American Diabetes Association, the GSU Athletic Foundation, Safe Haven’s Dancing with the Statesboro Stars, the Hudson Powell Memorial Scholarship, SkillsUSA, Ogeechee Technical College and the GSU Shooting Club.
“Having lived in Statesboro my whole life it is an honor to give back to my hometown”, Paul Roesel, said.
In 2017, SACK is adding the American Cancer Society to the list of charities they are contributing to by doing a $1500 sponsorship of the Relay for Life of Bulloch County. The SACK team have now made it their mission to match the company’s donation by having their own team at the relay. If you would like to help them meet their goal, please visit The Relay for Life of Bulloch County’s Page and find The Sack Company team page. You can also join us the night of the event, April 28th, at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds.
