Electrical Apprentice
Electrical Apprentices are responsible for working and learning under the direction of experienced Superintendents, Foremen, and Electricians.
Reports to: Electrical Superintendent, Electrical Foreman, Electrician
Duties & Responsibilities
The Apprentice is to assist Electricians with the prefabrication and installation of conduit, wiring, panels, light fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices. The Apprentice will bend conduit and pull wire through conduit. The Apprentice will assist in material handling activities throughout the job site. The Apprentice will participate in digging, covering, and compacting trenches on the job site. The Apprentice will keep a clean work area and maintain good condition of tools. The Apprentice will adhere to all workplace safety procedures outlined in the Safety Handbook. The Apprentice is expected to adhere to all company and site-specific Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE) requirements.The Apprentice may be assigned other duties as required.
Qualifications
The Apprentice must be enrolled or registered to enroll in The Sack Company ElectricalApprenticeship program. The Apprentice should have at least a basic working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction methods. The Apprentice must be able to work productively under both heavy and limited supervision. The Apprentice must have a high school diploma or equivalent level of education.
Working Conditions
The Apprentice must be able and willing to work in cold and hot temperature conditions. The Apprentice must be willing and able to travel to assigned job site locations. The Apprentice must be able and willing to work a typical schedules necessary to complete assigned construction project(s), including nights and weekends. The Apprentice must remain in good standing academically while enrolled in the Apprenticeship program.
Tools Used
Shovels, tampers, drill motors, band saws, pipe benders, hydraulic punch, ratchet punch, meters, threading machines, hacksaws, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other machines and equipment used in the trade.
Protective Equipment
Safety glasses, safety-toe rated shoes, hard hat, verified appropriate gloves for task, hearing protection, safety harness, ground fault protection, and other equipment as required.
