Electricians are responsible for the assembly, repair, and installation of electrical components and connections across all phases of a construction project according to all applicable codes, specifications, and plans
Reports to: Electrical Superintendent, Electrical Foreman
Duties & Responsibilities
The Electrician is responsible for the completion of electrical construction tasks in all phases of commercial or industrial applications. The Electrician must be able to work with limited to no direct on-site supervision. The Electrician is expected to be able to maintain a crew of limited size for prefabrication, layout, and installation of construction materials necessary to complete tasks as dictated by plans, specifications, and codes. The Electrician is responsible for the general safety of all team members and subcontractors, including their own well-being, by adherence, enforcement, and promotion of workplace safety procedures outlined in the Safety Handbook. The Electrician is expected to adhere to all company and site-specific Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE) requirements. The Electrician may be assigned other duties as required
Qualifications
The Electrician must be proficient in performing a variety of electrical construction tasks, including but not limited to: layout work, conduit bending, wire pulling, device installation, and terminations. The Electrician must be proficient in reading and comprehending electrical blueprints and schematics in addition to any plans associated with coordination and installation activities of each task. The Electrician should have extensive knowledge of building materials and methods of installation. The Electrician must be able to perform all duties expected in a fast-paced electrical construction environment that requires extended periods of standing, squatting, climbing, heavy lifting, and operation of equipment associated with commercial and industrial electrical construction. The Electrician must have a strong familiarity with all local, state, and federal codes associated with the electrical trade and all applicable OSHA regulations
Working Conditions
The Electrician must be able and willing to work in cold and hot temperature conditions. The Electrician must be willing and able to travel to assigned jobsite locations. The Electrician must be able and willing to work atypical schedules necessary to complete assigned construction project(s), including nights and weekends
Tools Used
Shovels, tampers, drill motors, band saws, pipe benders, hydraulic punch, ratchet punch, meters, threading machines, hacksaws, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other machines and equipment used in the trade
Protective Equipment
Safety glasses, safety-toe rated shoes, hard hat, verified appropriate gloves for task, hearing protection, safety harness, ground fault protection, and other equipment as required
