Electrical General Superintendent
General Superintendents are to provide on-site technical and administrative management of electrical construction activities for multiple projects or a single large-scale project
Reports to: Electrical Division Manager, Project Executive, Project Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
The General Superintendent is to supervise operations on the assigned construction site(s). The General Superintendent is responsible for planning, scheduling, organization, coordination, direction, and control of all assigned field personnel that support profit and growth objectives. The General Superintendent is to support hiring, training, and retention of field personnel. The General Superintendent is to oversee quality assurance and quality control of prefabricated and installed construction work to ensure that it complies with scope of work and code requirements. The General Superintendent is to assist Project Manager with execution and management of project objectives. The General Superintendent is to serve as point of contact with client(s)and to uphold positive relationships with stakeholders. The General Superintendent is responsible for the general safety of all team members and subcontractors, including their own well-being, by adherence, enforcement, and promotion of workplace safety procedures outlined in the Safety Handbook. The General Superintendent is expected to adhere to all company and site-specific PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) requirements. The General Superintendent may be assigned other duties as required
Qualifications
TheGeneralSuperintendent must have advanced knowledge of construction methods, troubleshooting, resource management, administration, and trade coordination. The General Superintendent must be able to read, comprehend, interpret, and communicate information obtained from blueprints, models, and specifications. The General Superintendent must have knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in electrical construction. The General Superintendent must be current on the latest codes associated with the electrical trade (NEC, NFPA 70e) in addition to the latest OSHA and state safety regulations. The General Superintendent must have all applicable licenses and training necessary to perform assigned duties on the jobsite. The General Superintendent must have knowledge of job cost reporting, manpower projections, and estimating
Working Conditions
The General Superintendent must be able and willing to work in cold and hot temperature conditions. The General Superintendent must be willing and able to travel to assigned jobsite locations. The General Superintendent must be able and willing to work atypical schedules necessary to complete assigned construction project(s), including nights and weekends
Tools Used
Computers and associated construction software, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, excavators, and other machines and equipment used in the electrical trade
Protective Equipment
Safety glasses, safety-toe rated shoes, hard hat, verified appropriate gloves for task, hearing protection, safety harness, ground fault protection, and other equipment as required
